I just went to the Washburn play, "The Secret Policeman". I was disappointed with the storyline, but impressed with the acting. I understood the plot, but could hardly keep my mind from wandering, "What is the point?" I wish I could say I loved it, but then I would be lying. I am not lying when I say that the actors did an exceptional job. Although the plot was non-existent the actors were able to show emotion in an entirely convincing way. There was a lot of fist pounding, shouting, and one chair got thrown around almost constantly. The acting was there, the story, not-so-much.

Cancer sucks. I am sure you have seen those bumper stickers, and probably some of you are offended, but most of you agree. Cancer sucks. I know because I lost my father last year to pancreatic cancer. That sucked. Moving back to a town you hate becaue of cancer sucks too. I think pretty much anything that you can say that has the word "cancer" in it SUCKS.
Excuse my bluntness but I just have to let it out. I found out about a week ago that my Aunt Susie has a huge tumor in her stomach, of course it is cancerous...that SUCKS. Exactly. I have been trying to figure out how to write a blog about it without sounding bitter, but of course cancer sucks, so that is really hard to do. So I decided to write about how much cancer sucks, and pretty much everything that has to do with it sucks too. Did I already write that? Oh well, did I say cancer sucks? Because it does.

Campus Food

So who says you can't find good, cheap food on WU campus? I just got breakfast for $3 and I couldn't eat it all! Not because it was bad but because there was too much, and I am a big girl! The quality is exceptional as well. I was given a huge, freshly baked biscuit with a large ladle of gravy and a generous helping of scrambled eggs. I didn't ask but I am sure they were real eggs. That is a must for us college students, brain food!
The only complaint I have is the container they serve steaming hot food in is paper. You and I both know what a little bit of paper in your teeth can do to your day! If this is how they keep food cost down, so be it! We can improvise for decent, cheap food. :)

So today was going to be a great day that I did everything I needed to do and then some. I started off with physical therapy at Rebound with Brian who does amazing things to my shoulder. After that I headed straight to my first class for the day, US History II, which I have to say is my new favorite subject. We talked about the late 19th century and the captain's of industry and Social Darwinism. These things used to bore me, but I have to admit have fascinated me these first 3 weeks of class.

Leaving class, dazed and trying to bring myself back to this century I missed 2 steps and took a hard tumble. Thank the stars my fellow students beat me out of the building, (I stopped in the ladies room), for nobody saw my ridiculous fall. After writhing around on the floor for a couple seconds a teacher who heard me fall from the second floor came to my rescue and phoned the campus police.

Yes, sounds a little extreme I am sure, but I guess you have to look at it from thier perspective. It is a college campus and I could be drunk wandering around, or even disoriented and suicidal...you never know anymore! So I complied and answered all of the questions and chatted with a really nice lady-cop. The ambulance arrived shortly after and I denied treatment because I know I would get a huge bill and I proceeded to limp to class 20 minutes late.
